An easy guide — with pictures!

A statue of a man covering his face with his hand while the Tommee Tippee Perfect Prep machine peeps loudly

So you spent over $70 on what is, at best, a glorified kettle, and you’re wondering why every time you press the button it peeps loud enough to be heard over a jet engine. The reason can only be that the Product Team at Tommee Tippee don’t actually know anyone who is a parent, or even anyone who has ears, otherwise they would know that nobody in their right mind wants a peep that will wake up their sleeping partner in the next room and the neighbours across the road.

But I digress; You need solutions, not problems. The good news is, it’s very easy to fix, and the bad news is, you’re going to have to open the machine up.

You will need:

  • Ideally, a ‘three-winged’ screwdriver, or for us normal people: A small flathead screwdriver (3mm/eighth-of-an-inch) OR a small allen/hex key OR two smaller screwdrivers OR a small torx screwdriver OR a steak knife
  • Electrical tape OR sellotape
  • Pliers OR a knife

And that’s it. If you’re feeling unsure about opening it up, I say to you: Now is the time to seize back some of the independence and joie de vivre that your baby has stolen from you.

Open her up
